LIFELONG CONSERVATIVE FREDERICK FORSYTH CALLS FOR TORIES TO VOTE KEYS
On Saturday 30 April at 11 am, renowned novelist Frederick Forsyth intends to visit the Sedgefield constituency to call for Conservative and Liberal Democrats to vote for Reg Keys. He intends to place a large bunch of white lilies on the war memorial at Sedgefield, in honour of those who died in past wars and the war in Iraq.
He will say:
'In contrast to the 85 young British servicemen who were sent to their deaths in Iraq for a lie, those who died in World Wars I and 2 were not lied to; I urge the people of Sedgefield constituency not to send a liar back to Parliament.'
Frederick Forsyth, best known as author of many successful novels including The Day of the Jackal and the Fourth Protocol, refers to himself as a lifelong Conservative.
'Reg Keys and the people of Sedgefield can prevent Blair returning to power. I am making a direct appeal to the voters of Sedgefield to ignore the Conservative candidate, and the Liberal Democrat, and to vote for Reg Keys, a decent, honest man whose son was killed for a tissue of lies. We must make it clear that we are not prepared to be lied to and that it is not acceptable to send our forces to war on the basis of lies.'
After the ceremony Frederick Forsyth, accompanied by Reg Keys and Brian Eno, will meet journalists briefly in a local hostelry. He will then tour the southern part of the constituency garnering support for Reg Keys.
