Tuesday 26 April
Get up inordinately early to get to office for 9am meeting. Heavy rain again
- which makes being stuck inside a little easier. Sky News is with Reg - and
amongst the other outfits following him around is an out-of-area one which
seems to regard its interview as more important than the voter who is
waiting to speak to him. This means there's a clamp-down on non-local,
non-national media from now on. If I feel cross enough at a time when
there's nothing better to do, I shall ring their editor.
I've actually cleared the shoes out of my car - when I was giving Gareth a
lift home to Weardale the other evening he said 'you've got more shoes in
your car than I've got in my life'.
Someone reads out a news feed saying we have 'the slickest press outfit in
the Sedgefield campaign and twice as big as the others.' What, me? And
bigger than the whole national Labour Party machine? Surely not.
Someone else finds a comment that potatoes are not usually featured in
political blogs. Maybe mine will become the most famous potatoes of this
election.
Reg is preparing another challenge to Blair to debate the war with him, face
to face, father to father. We hope to work on it tonight, but he has the
first Meet Reg Keys meeting to go to as well...
Suddenly I have an emailing problem - potential disaster. I dash home to
visit the computer doctor who sorts it for me.
Vodaphone magic still not working.
