Tuesday 19 April

Launch tomorrow of Reg's Pledges and the bus tour. It takes a while to finalise the route and then put out the press release, but it's done by 5pm after someone mysteriously took the itinerary home and came back with it on disk to save me typing it out again. Thank you Alasdair!

All the London broadsheets will be with us tomorrow - my job is to keep them under control and stop them scaring the voters. Agent Bob says I must wear my Bossy Suit.

There's been trouble with the telephone lines, phones not ringing or not coming in through the lines we expect them to. Apologies to anyone who's been trying to get in touch - specially if you are offering help - and hasn't got through. That should be sorted today.

Reg has been meeting voters, as usual. One of the journos who was with him was extremely enthusiastic about the reaction we're getting - a large proportion of voters still feel undecided or disillusioned, but of those who declared, 50pc said Labour and 50pc said Keys.

Two people turn up from Wales and say they can stay for a few days and help - brilliant. This is what we need. If you're thinking of it, it's hard work, and can be cold or wet or both, but it's important. And it's rewarding.
